I stopped to watch The Calum Johnson Show the other day for two reasons. First, because I am subscribed to him and I genuinely enjoy his interviews. And second, because Maria Wendt was the featured guest. She has no idea who I am, but she had already made a massive impact on me. So when I saw her name, I clicked immediately.
I expected a good conversation. I did not expect a moment that would shift something inside me.
The Line That Hit Me Hard
Maria shared her story about becoming a mother during one of the hardest seasons of her life. She talked about heartbreak. She talked about navigating single motherhood. She said she did not have the luxury of falling apart. Her child needed her. So instead of drowning in the pain, she used it as fuel. It strengthened her. It sharpened her. It moved her forward when stopping would have been easier.
The honesty in her voice made something in me crack open. Because I understood it. I lived it too.
The Parts of My Story That Shock People
What most people do not know is that I have survived some very monumental hard times. The kind of moments that do not make sense on paper. The kind of experiences that, when I share them, leave people legitimately shocked. Not because they think my life is perfect. Not because I hide who I am. But because some of the stories are so intense and so wildly out of alignment with the woman I am today that they are stunned I walked through them and still became this version of myself.
But I believe those moments made me. Every painful chapter. Every heartbreak. Every unexpected shift. They carved out strength I did not know I had. They shaped my resilience. They shaped the way I lead. And they shaped my obsession with helping women build businesses that feel safe, sustainable, and aligned.
The Day My Life Changed Overnight
And then there was the moment my life changed completely.
It came out of nowhere. One day the future looked one way and literally the next day everything that felt certain was gone. I was standing in the middle of my life with a newborn in my arms, postpartum hormones that felt like a tidal wave, and a reality I never saw coming.
I remember one moment with absolute clarity. I was holding my daughter. She was tiny and peaceful and completely unaware that everything in my world had just shifted. I looked at her and made a decision that altered my trajectory forever. I decided that my life would change. I decided she would grow up proud of who I became. I decided I would build something stable and meaningful. Something that looked like strength even when I did not feel strong.
She became my why. And when your why is that pure, you find a way.
Why Maria’s Story Pushed Me Into Action
That is why Maria’s story hit me so deeply. She reminded me that pain does not always break you. Sometimes it redirects you. Sometimes it becomes the exact thing that pushes you toward the life you were meant to build.
And here is the funny part. I had been thinking about starting Align Method for years. I secured the social handles. I grabbed the domains. I wrote notes to myself about it more times than I can count. But I never moved on it.
Then I saw one of Maria’s posts. Just one. And it sent me into a rabbit hole. I watched more. I listened closely. And with each video I felt the same thing. It is time. You have been sitting on this for too long. Her story gave me the push I needed to start taking action.
And this is the part where women get called dramatic. Or maybe we are just extremely thorough. 😉 The same person who inspired me is the person I started doubting. I doubted myself and then I doubted her. I even asked AI if Maria Wendt was a real person or if we were all being fooled by an AI generated internet icon. Yes, I actually did that. The irony is not lost on me.
That is what doubt does. It tries to pull you back into safety. It whispers that the thing that inspired you might not be real. It tells you that your potential might be imaginary. But this time I did not listen.
Your Impact Is Bigger Than You Think
Just like Maria may never know I exist, there are women out there who you are quietly changing. Women who watch you. Women who listen to you. Women who are encouraged by your courage. Women who may never comment or like or DM you, but still feel stronger because you showed up.
You may never know their names. You may never see their faces. But your message and your life are changing them.
Keep moving forward. Keep showing up. Keep speaking from the truth you have lived.
